turkey day wrap up

i've got a lot of thoughts, musings, feels, shtuffs . . . and could write a rather lengthy, novel-like post. but no one wants to spend 47 minutes reading about my uber exciting life haha. plus, do i really need to jam pack it all into one post? i mean let's live a little and go post happy haha!

okay, first up is Thanksgiving! how was your holiday week/weekend? i hope each and every one of you (all two of you hahahaha) were able to partake in a delicious feast and had a fabulous day. :)

as i mentioned in my last post (here) the dude and i flew to Lincoln (just outside of Sacramento) to spend the week and weekend with his folks (does folks sound like a silly word to you? maybe it's just me, but i get a good little mini giggle every time i hear it). i cannot do our time there any justice by trying to describe it because i just can't for the life of me think of the right words. so i shall simply say that i had a ball! a blast! a spectacular time!

the past several years have held an excessive a lot of ups and down in regards to my relationship with his family, as well as his relationship with them. you ever hear of those in-law horror stories? well, it was sort of like that. but not because they are terrible people. oh no. rather because there was a lot of over-protectiveness, miscommunications, in many cases just flat out non communication happening. it was just bad for quite some time. and although there were many attempts to fix things, we were all holding on to too many harsh feelings to make any progress. flash forward to the beginning of this year. there must have been something in the water because each and every person involved agreed to put aside the past (for real this time) so that we could finally begin rebuilding and grow as a much stronger family. i am very extremely thankful and feel oh, so blessed.

anyways, onto the fun stuff haha. since pictures best capture the whole feel of the weekend, well you get it ;)

it starts with a pre-dinner picture shoot haha

the dude and i all spiffied up :)

the girls!
"let's do a fun one!"
"just the couples now" lol

and finally, the spread. holy oh my!
post-Tday trip to Old Town. shopping,
