five friday favorite (on a sunday) #10 - wedding edition

remember when i said that life would slow down and go "back to normal" after the wedding? well, it is sort of back to normal since we aren't planning a wedding anymore. as for slow though . . . well boy was i wrong! life seems to have decided to dial it up a couple of notches. must be in response to my slow comment. now don't get me wrong, busy is not a terrible thing in this instance. in fact, we have been busy little bees at work, and little social butterflies outside of work.

i have sooooooo much i could chatter on about, but i think i want to take things slow and not write an absurdly long post about my blah, blah life. i mean, no one wants to read that haha. so, let's start with the five faves wedding edition that i owe you from nearly a whole month ago.

after much anticipation, i give you five of my favorite things from the wedding . . . funny enough, we just received all of our wedding pictures back from the photographer yesterday! please enjoy the loveliness. oh, and all photo credits go to jodi anne photography. :)

1. i've got the blues

with just one peek of the eye, i was over-the-moon, in shoe-love with these stunning pumps! instantly, i though, 'ooo something blue!' ironically enough, i almost returned this pair because the first time i tried them on (sitting down only, which was the mistake) resulted in anything but a cinderella-and-the-glass-slipper moment. something in me chose to hold onto them, even though i had moved along in my search for the perfect bridal shoe. nearly a month later, i tried them on once more as i was getting ready to return them, and to my delightful surprise, they were a perfect fit! just goes to show that i need to actually stand up and walk around when trying on a new shoe of any kind . . . side note: i love how his socks, tie, and pocket square are the perfect amount of matchy matchy ;)

2. horse play

early on, the dude and i agreed that the last thing we wanted for our wedding was that stuffy feel (know the feeling i mean), which is precisely why splashing in hints of fun was a must! can you believe my husband built this life size janga and two corn hole boards?! i have one crafty man! my teensy contribution was the paint job.

we received so many praises for having lawn games. everyone was thoroughly tickled by them. mission accomplished! sadly, i did not get a chance to play either game, but really enjoyed seeing the kid come alive in everyone who did.

3. we so crafty

at times throughout the planning process, i wanted to say, 'i quit!' in regards to the various DIY projects we took on. we made our own planter boxes (that was all him), then filled them with succulents (a combined effort), hand decorating 25 uniquely different wine bottles (and stuffed them with baby's breath), designing hand written signage, and so much more . . .

after everything is all said and done, i am very proud that we did so much on our own! can you only imagine just how much money we saved using our own two hands to make so much of our wedding decor? also, each task put our team work skills to the test . . . and we came out on top. good to know we really do make a great team. ;)

4. our names in print!

i do not think that i will ever truly get over just how adorable our newspaper programs were. at least i think so. our coordinator did exceptional work with the decor arrangement.

5. fun favors

searching for the right wedding favor was a lot more difficult than i anticipated. i visited Pinterest and many a wedding blog, and while so many of the popular wedding favors were without a doubt cute, none seemed to be "us" enough. i don't even remember how i even came across sunglasses. i was pretty deep into my hundredth Google search at the time. when i did though, on buddy did i get a giddy rush. he loved the idea, so we ran with it!

. . . and just for fun

because donuts :)

have a happy, fun, and hopefully sunny sunday!

peace. love. :)
